Format: One Man Scramble format
"Modified" Scramble Rules-- Each player will be allowed to hit 1 "mulligan" on Par 3s. 2 "mulligans" on Par 4s, and 3 "mulligans" on Par 5s. Only one mulligan per shot (players cannot use two mulligans on one shot.) Mulligans can be used on any shot from the tee through the green, including putts. Players will choose their best shot and mark the ball within one club-length (no closer to the hole) and continue play from that point. Players may not use the club-length to extricate themseves from a hazard, bunker or the rough. Players may not use the club-length to move onto the putting surface. When using a mulligan, players MAY USE the club-length to get relief from a tree, divot etc. All other shots will be played as "winter rules". Players will be able to improve their lie on every shot. Un-used mulligans can not be "carried over" to the next hole and you cannot use more than one mulligan on one shot. The decision to use a mulligan must be made immediately at the point from which each shot was taken. The 14-club rule is in effect.
Qualifiers: Open to all golfers. Players without an established index will compete in the first Flight (index 5.0 and below). There are 5 flights in each of the two divisions: Mens and Sr. Mens (55 years and above). Male amateur players will play from different tees depending on their flights. Call Shadow Lakes Golf Shop for more tee and flight information 925-516-2837. Female amateur players are eligible to play and will play from the silver tees. Mens division will qualify the top two players in each flight. Senior Mens division will qualify the top one player in each flight. If there is only one player that represents a flight, that player will automatically advance to a Major Chmpionship!
Qualifying Players will compete in Major Championship at
Deer Ridge Golf Club on August 23, 2007. Entry will be $150 inclusive of Nike Golf TEE package!
So come try and qualifiy. If you are a local golfer this will be a great opportunity to meet many of the Shadow Lakes Players Club Members and Deer Ridge Golf Club's Men's Club members who will be participating. Both clubs host regular monthly events throughout the year at their respective course so come play the Nike One Man Scramble and get to know some area golfers and have fun!
